What is vintage and curated vintage?

Vintage clothing are clothes that are between 20 to 100 years old. If a piece of clothing is older than 100 years it is antique.

What is curated vintage?

Curated vintage means that the vintage pieces have been carefully selected by the store according to certain criteras, such as age, style, or quality. The goal is to make it easier for customers to find vintage pieces that suit their taste. The prices of curated vintage is often higher than the prices at thrift stores due to also buying the store owners time, knowledge, and inspiration.

What are the benefits of curated vintage?

1. It´s easier for customers to shop, the store owner has already already selected the best pieces from the thrift store, making it easier for customers to quickly find high-quality vintage items without having to sift through the entire thrift store inventory.

2. Customers can be sure that the piece they are buying is actually vintage, not modern fast fashion. Today thrift stores are overrun with fast fashion, with a few pieces of vintage sprinkled in. But by buying from a curated vintage store customers dont need to worry if the piece they are buying is fast fashion.

3. It can be an investment potential. Some curated vintage pieces can rise in value over time, especially if they are rare or highly sought after. Investing in carefully curated vintage clothing can potentially offer a financial return in addition to aesthetic enjoyment.

4. It´s sustainable. Choosing curated vintage clothing supports sustainable fashion practices by giving existing garments a new life. It reduces the demand for new clothing production, which in turn helps to decrease the environmental impact of the fashion industry.
